Our lab is based in the 'tower' of Hen Coleg, Room Hen Coleg 2.05 - a 360-degree-view duplex office space with state-of-art equipment including one Mobile server (Lenovo S540 with Intel® Core i7-4510U @ 2.00GHz 16GB 256SSD) and two Desktop servers (Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor), two researcher's mobile workstations (Samsung 400B with Intel® Core i5-2450M @ 2.50GHz), the "students' bench" with four workstations (Intel® Atom Netbooks), one hot-desking round-table for up to three visiting researchers, a welcome area for visitors and a Plasma 40" screen+Smartboard for presentations.

 

The lab space has the capacity to run meetings, lab sessions for students in the use of Forecasting & Foresight Support Systems (up to 5 students simultaneously), a 'financial forecasting & trading floor' infrastructure, full commercial licences for Delphi XE Software Enginnering platform, Alyuda Neurointelligence AI software platform, SurveyMonkey survey platform, academic licence for R statistical package, direct access to DatastreamBloomberg and the HPC Wales supercomputer, and finally via the university IT services access to IBM SPSS and QSR Nvivo. The lab can host up to 12 researchers at full capacity.

 

Hen Coleg is the main bulding of Bangor Business School, a Victorian building originally known as the The Normal College that was founded by the British and Foreign School Society to train teachers for non-denominational primary schools, built 1858-62 and taking its current architectural form in 1910.
